Hi, I’m Phil.
I’m an entrepreneur, writer and creator.
I believe entrepreneurship and marketing can be an incredible force for good - and I’m interested in what happens when they’re used responsibly, creatively, and with people in mind.
I run a marketing agency, write books, and enjoy working with businesses on how they grow - helping people think through strategy, marketing, and the kind of company they’re trying to build.
-
I write books and essays about entrepreneurship, marketing, and business - mostly for people who are trying to build something real, not just grow something fast.
A lot of it comes from spending years inside a marketing agency: working with founders, watching businesses scale, and seeing how often good intentions get lost along the way.
Writing is how I work through what I’ve seen, what I’ve got wrong, and what I think we could do better.
-
I love conversations, but I also spend a lot of time speaking publicly.
I appear on podcasts, give talks online and on stage, and speak at universities about entrepreneurship, marketing, and what it’s really like to build a business over time.
Some of this is about sharing what I’ve learned so far. Just as much of it is about meeting interesting people, asking better questions, and continuing to learn in public. I’m also in the process of launching my own podcast for exactly that reason.
-
Alongside writing, I enjoy sitting with difficult marketing and growth questions - especially with people who don’t want easy answers.
I’m open to advising and talking with senior marketers, founders, and investors about strategy, positioning, and the knock-on effects of how businesses choose to grow.
